ROOTED IN LIFE

Adventures from the Farm and Beyond

Forever at a lost

Updated: Jan 20

Hey again! I've had a lot on my mind lately. That dreaded thing is coming up again... don't know what I'm talking about? You know that thing that everyone dreads when it is "in season," so to say. People hope that it turns out well and are so glad when it is finally over. If you haven't figured it out yet... T-A-X-E-S, scary, right? Who would've known that when you own your own business "taxes" get a lot more complicated.

On a different note, when you have taxes, money is never enough. It makes me ponder how to make enough money to get out of debt FAST, then live off the land. I really enjoy the idea of homesteading, I already have goats, chickens, a BIG garden, and a decent amount of land to work with.

This year, my goal is to be able to make enough money on the farm instead of having to go out and work. That's a lot of money to somehow "come up with" when the farm is currently only making a couple hundred a year.

My first (million) tasks at hand to improve the homestead (and make it profitable) are:

-Build a shed (to store things that are currently in a storage unit)

-Create a large profitable garden (to sell fresh produce at farmers markets)

-Plant an orchard

-Demolish some old buildings to make room for new!

-Build a chicken coop and fill it with layer hens (to sell eggs)

These are all projects that take a lot of time, as you may already know. I am being hopeful that I will be able to get them all done while balancing a job. *Cross my fingers* Well, I better get to work, I don't have much time! LOL

Till Next Time- Live Life to the Fullest
